Dr. Catur Edi Widodo specializes in instrumentation physics and electronics with modern computational approaches. His research mainly focuses on digital image processing, machine learning and deep learning, as well as data mining for complex system analysis.

His expertise has been widely applied in various fields, including medical image diagnosis such as COVID-19 and pleural effusion detection, image-based product quality classification such as fish freshness analysis and foreign object detection in rice grains, as well as data-driven behavioral analysis including road user behavior patterns.

In addition, he also develops numerical simulations and sensor-based systems in the context of applied physics.
